Since there are many people in here having the issue with steps not converting/not getting steps while walking;
Here are a few possible factors causing steps not to count
- Most likely it is because it takes time to convert. Sweatcoin has millions of players and it can take a few hours before steps are converted so make sure to wait a bit.
- While walking with the phone in your hand you shake the phone and the app might think you are trying to cheat, to prevent this from happening simply put the phone as much as possible in your pockets.
- Walking indoors, some steps indoors might get counted but not converted. This can either be because your phone is too old or because you don't have the setting enabled for indoor-steps converting.
- You walk too fast, if you run very fast you might wanna slow down a little. The app might think you are a moving vehicle and count the steps as "cheating".
- The app is not up to date. You might still need to update the app since it updates quite frequently, be sure to check it in the app store or google play store.

Proffering solutions to this,
Here are a few helpful tips to prevent steps not counting/converting.
1. Log on to the app periodically, we recommend every 12 hours so that your steps are converted all in one go.
2. If you have Low Power/Battery Saver turned on, this can interfere with your device's pedometer, which can affect step conversions.
3. If you have changed your time & date settings recently, this can interfere with our algorithm, so please make sure to set your time & date settings to automatic and then reinstall our app. Remember to log back in with your original Sweatcoin credentials.
4. Delete any pre-installed fitness/step tracking app from your device that you don't use, as these can interfere with our algorithm.
5. Always make sure you have the latest version of our app installed.
People who say the issues started with premium, It's not possible, what is possible, is that the device (I presume its Android users who complain) can count steps first few days, and afterward, the system decides that it is too much for an app to work prolonged period in background and start limiting it. People bind it to the purchase of Premium when in reality it is their device that prevents our app to work correctly.

And remember The conversion numbers are never going to perfectly match 1,000 steps for 1 sweatcoin for two reasons: 1. Your phone tracks not just genuine steps but all the bumps and shakes and swings and phone being lifted to your ear. This is why we convert only VERIFIED steps into sweatcoins, so it all of your TOTAL steps will get converted by our verification model. This is a very complex and expensive process that protects all of us from people trying to earn sweatcoins by putting phones on their dogs, on top of their dishwashers, cradles, metronomes, swings, etc. The ratio between VERIFIED and TOTAL steps is typically in the range between 60% to 95%. When it is lower it is likely that you have some issues with your phone settings. 2. There is a 5% commission on the issuance transactions, so that for every 1,000 VERIFIED steps you get net net 0.95 sweatcoin. This is all in our FAQs too.
